Sue and I just fancied a cheap sunshine holiday this year. Lunn Poly had a good deal on a week in Altinkum, Turkey and as this is my big sis Heathers favourite holiday destination we decided to give it a go. Its a great place, lots of bars and clubs, friendly locals - although they are all trying to sell you something or get you into bed - and the scenery is good too, especially if you go out on an island cruise. I intend to go back again with James this time as the local guys can be quite persistent even if you tell them you are married.

During our stay we took a day trip to Ephesus, the ruins of a great Roman city. This trip also included a stop at the "Temple of Artemis" and at the "House of the Virgin Mary". We took a five island boat cruise, and enjoyed it so much we went again a couple of days later - there are lots of excursions available, however, we were on a limited budget. We hoped to have a Turkish bath but were told it would remove our tans so we gave it a miss and bought a Turkish Bath set instead - I'll give it a go next time before I get a tan.
