Sailing, Weston-Super-Mare, UK.
WOW. The first stage was to learn how to move the board with no sail attached - not as easy as it sounds and I fell on my partner for the day, Alison, twice - Sorry! Next step hold the sail while its attached to a piece of wood to see how it feels - even a light wind nearly pulls your arms off. OK - you can stand on the board and manouver it and you can also control the sail - so lets put the two together. Not as easy as it sounds. Whilst the boys were zooming around the beach as if it was second nature - I was struggling to hold up the sail. That's OK - let the
girlie have a 'kids' sail, slightly smaller and lighter. After a break for
lunch I'd got it sussed - ye ha! I was taking it in turns with Alison
zooming up and down the beach and at 4 o'clock I was rather disappointed
to have to go home!
