My mountain biking started with a borrowed Halford's Apollo mountain bike, I rode along the canals and byways for a few months and then started doing some forest and cross country biking, I soon got into jumping and doing downhill and entered a few races.

I was a spectator at a few of the SAMS races and then did my first race at Cwmcarn and came third, (out of three girls).  Did another race with Year 2000 at Shobdon Woods and came third out of six female competitors, I even got a cheque for £10 and a medal for this one. 

I don't ride regularly now, I still have the 'pocket rocket' pictured and also a Giant OCR road bike, maybe I'll go out this afternoon.....
