On a recent travel programme they listed the top 50 places to see before you die - the Grand Canyon was #1. Having been there I am not surprised, it is totally breath taking, 171 miles long and 18 miles wide at some points. The Colorado river cascades through the Canyon and its is still mainly Red Indian territory. The four wheel drive tour took us to the base of the Grand Canyon for lunch, right next to the Colorado river, we then drove up to the West Rim and the most amazing scenery I have ever seen.
