This was a very unexpected birthday present from a friend - he had hoped for me to do a skydive, but due to health issues I wasn't able to. So the next best thing was a trail gliding lesson at the airfield where I did my first Parachute Jump in 1990.

I was not sure what to expect, I'm not particularly keen on flying in small aircraft and only do it as its necessary for parachuting and the thought of going up in an aircraft that essentially looks like a kids toy was not that appealing - I was supplied with a parachute which put my mind at rest as I know how to use one of those!

If you get a chance to do this - GO FOR IT - I found the experience amazing and its the closest I've ever been to a feeling of complete freedom.
