I'd never really had the opportunity to abseil, then I went to Malvern Quarry with a friend who was doing a charity drop - somehow I got persuaded by a hunky Royal Marine to have a go....and it was fun! No pictures from that one. The next time, over 10 years later I got involved in a charity drop with some work colleagues, this was a baby 35ft . As it was for all levels a platform was set up and you swung out on to the wall. No challenge but could do lots of 'wall hops' which added to the fun.

The next one was the 'Big One' at Avon Gorge near Bristol. If you have ever driven into Bristol, under the suspension bridge you will be familiar with the twisty road along the riverside and the cliffs on the left hand side of the road - these were the ones. Think 5 houses high!
